I began programming professionally several years ago and I'd like to use this blog as a resource to help other people to do the same. I took one or two programming classes in college, but at the time I didn't understand programming and none of the instruction was helpful to me, nor was the subject matter applicable. So after college I didn't do any programming for about 5 years. When I finally took it up again I had a difficult time finding easy to access resources to help me learn all of the things I had missed.
Most programming books and websites suffer from two deficits, they are written as though the reader already knows how to program and they skip how to apply your code in a real world setting. I hope not only to make programming accessible but also applicable. I currently use C++ and Python as my primary programming languages but I will give information about other languages as well, such as Javascript and Jquery.
Not all of my posts will be about programming. I'm also interested in science, math, guitar playing and computer graphics. From time to time I might chime in with some posts about my other interests as well. Hope you find it all useful.
